The Position :

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Sr. Director, Human Resources, Europe is responsible for managing all Human Resources (HR) related matters in Europe.

This role will act as a Business Partner to the VP & GM, Europe and the European Leadership Team to maintain an effective level of understanding of the EU financial goals and performance, mid-

range plans, competitive threats and culture. The successful candidate will have the ability to build out the HR function for the EU with the goal of promoting the Sarepta culture within the Zug Headquarters and in the country teams.

The role will support the managers and employees in Europe by building relationships, implementing policies and programs, overseeing performance management, reward and recognition, recruitment and retention, and employee relations.

Primary Responsibilities include :

  • Partner with Corporate HR to design, implement, and reinforce appropriate application of HR policies, standards and procedures to ensure alignment with the organization’s vision, mission and values and to ensure adherence with legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of HR strategy for Europe working with senior leadership, HR and Legal to ensure consistency.
  • Partner with hiring managers on the recruitment, selection and on-boarding process within the region including management of all offer letters, pre-
  • hire paperwork, orientation content benefit offerings, etc.

  • Provide local input into the development of compensation and benefits programs (including pension) to ensure local market competitiveness is achieved and maintained, as well as local legal and regulatory requirements are observed.
  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of HR initiatives related to Performance Management, Talent Planning, Base Pay and Incentive Pay.
  • Ensure the consistent and timely delivery of all HR services, including payroll and benefits and pension administration.
  • Building team and individual capabilities and creating a positive work environment by being an effective role model
  • Align business objectives across cross-functional teams within the Zug Headquarters and at the country level
  • Partners with Corporate HR to deliver local expertise in the development of new / enhanced HR programs, HR policy interpretation and handling of complex workplace issues.
  • External relationships include vendors supporting HR service offerings, consultants and industry network groups as appropriate.
  • Education and Skills Requirements :

  • 10+ years direct leadership experience in Human Resources or related areas.
  • BS required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of HR concepts, policies and practices acquired through formal academic training and / relevant years’ experience in an HR generalist capacity and / or corporate HR areas of expertise
  • Subject matter expertise for all HR generalist related functions specific to Europe, including Resourcing, Employee Relations and various European specific policies and programs and employment law.
  • Expert knowledge of program management, change management and implementation planning capability to effectively deliver HR solutions to the assigned client groups.
  • Advanced Business acumen and understanding of the assigned client groups including their culture, their products, services and HR requirements.
  • Expert Consulting skills and ability to persuade / influence business leaders on suggested action for turning business issues / problems into viable HR / Business solutions.
  • Expert Problem solving skills, ability to determine root cause of complex issues and arrive at sound HR / Business solutions.
  • Expert Communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills in order to work effectively with business and HR leaders and partners.
  • Expert People management skills, ability to manage priorities and create a collaborative and high performing HR team.
