Constantly develop and update, in accordance with the Plant Manager, the manufacturing and engineering strategies in compliance with the overall Corporate and Company strategic directions, ensuring and constantly optimizing the processes and the related organizational structure.
Supports the production, quality, procurement, EHS / Facility departments in continuous improvement / Kaizens (e.g. 5S, Standard Work (SW), lean manufacturing, lead time reduction, short set-
up times (SMED), KPI / Daily Management to achieve KPI targets.
Ensure the manufacturing of products to meet or exceed the customer's expectations and the agreed +QDIP targets.
Able to lead, supervise, coordinate, motivate, train and develop direct reports and their associates. Guarantees the availability of qualitative and quantitative necessary associates to reach engineering's targets & KPIs, defining needs of fixed and temporary associates, supervising, coordinating, training and developing associates, evaluating their performance, training and development in accordance with HR Policies and Procedures.
This includes that active use of Work Day, Goals & Objectives, Development Plans, with Semi- and Annual Performance Evaluations.
Ensure understanding and proper application within manufacturing & engineering of the medical devices Quality System (including all SOP, CAPA, NCM, etc.
EHS Policies and any other applicable company policy.
Live the DBS Culture within the manufacturing & engineering departments, such as continuous improvements and lean Kaizen (VSM, 5S / SW, SMED, VRK, TPM and others) to reach world's class + QDIP level.
Contribute to the definition of the department objectives, resources, departmental expenses and capital budget for the year with his / her supervisor.
Closely cooperate with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement and Marketing on company-wide projects and on a daily basis.
Is responsible to propose, prepare, submit and monitor the necessary CAR’s until final approval.
Prepare, execute, follow up and sustain the Actions Plans (AP) and Problem-Solving Processes (PSP) for the KPI's of the position's responsibility (in particular but not limited to Manufacturing Variances, GFOV, scrap / rework, DPR, internal & external NCM, etc.
Support Procurement on the VAVE projects.
Actively drive and work on footprint projects as per overall Corporate Operations Strategy
Ensure with the tool shop team a proper qualitative and quantitative preventive and extraordinary maintenance, realize new equipment, refurbish existing ones and coordinate the priorities and the projects.
Maintain updated the BOM and Routings of Bioggio-made products in Oracle, constantly verifying the manufacturing variances between frozen and pending (actual) costs.
Ensure correct handling and update of new item openings and discontinuation.
Leading approx. 3 direct reports and their teams (est. 10 hdct). Is responsible for an investment budget in machinery for Bioggio of around 0.
5-1.0 Million € / year.. Interfaces with Quality / Supply Chain / Marketing / Procurement / EHS & Facility / HR / Finance of the Site and Plant / Engineering Managers of other DHR / SDS Sites on projects and technical issues.
University Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
At least 8 years experience in industrial company as Manufacturing and / or Engineering Manager, preferably within companies with high technical and technological competencies, by high products and processes variety.
Very good knowledge of MS Office package
