The Department of Mathematics is seeking to hire a tenure track Assistant Professor in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or closely related field starting Fall 2019.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong commitment to high-quality research in one or more areas of specialization mentioned above.
This candidate will also be expected to work closely with Mathworks, a mathematics education center in the Mathematics Department.
The candidate must be dedicated to the teaching and mentoring of students at the graduate and undergraduate levels. In addition, the candidate must be actively engaged in service to the department, college, university and mathematical community.
The starting salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications.
Required Qualifications 1. An earned doctorate in mathematics, mathematic education, statistics, or a closely related field prior to employment.
an ability to contribute to the Mathworks mission; and the potential to assume a leadership role in Mathworks. 5. A strong preparation in mathematics.
6. An ability to contribute to the Mathematics Department mission.
Preferred Qualifications 1. Evidence of, or potential to obtain, external funding. 2. High potential to collaborate with departmental faculty in mathematics and mathematics education.
