use. The Initiative engages over 60 businesses, 25 governments around the world, and leading universities and civil society organisations, and offers the latest knowledge to leaders and the public for more informed decision-
making, while providing a unique global platform for leaders to build consensus, share ideas, collaborate and drive action to shape a sustainable and inclusive future of production.
For this initiative, we are seeking a Research and Analysis Specialist who will be responsible for driving cutting-edge research analysis and strategic intelligence on trends.
Reporting Lines and Interactions
The Research and Analysis Specialist will report to the Head of the Shaping the Future of Manufacturing and Production System Initiative.
He / she will connect internally with other colleagues in the Centre for Global Industries and Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution;
and externally with a broad range of stakeholders in the community which comprises governments, companies, research institutions and civil society organizations.
Breakdown of main responsibilities
Conduct research and analysis to identify key trends and their implications for industry and society as well as key experts and influencers shaping the production ecosystem, drawing on a range of cutting-
edge research and analysis tools
Explore and highlight interlinkages between these and other transformative trends, using Forum communities and events to capture emerging trends at the macro level and suggest ideas for further exploration
Work with Forum teams and external experts in academia, think tanks, government and industry to capture relevant knowledge and insights;
review and synthesize content generated by community experts
Manage the Global Future Council of production experts in collaboration with Community Manager, and coordinate overall engagement of world leading experts in the initiative
Understand and advance the Forum’s digital knowledge and analysis tools and contribute to their further development to maximize value to our partners and constituents;
help curate relevant industry Transformation Maps
Develop cutting-edge online content to provide an in-depth perspective on latest developments and activate community engagement
Ensure cooperation with internal and external partners, building strong relationships based on trust and professionalism
The successful candidate will be assessed on :
Quality of insights and frequency of new ideas generated
Number of world leading experts identified and engaged in the initiative
Reach of new insights including community members, the media and other channels
Forum values and behaviors including collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Unique and valuable outputs generated by the Global Future Council
Preferred Requirements and Experience :
Broad intellectual background with a Master's degree from a recognized university
3-5 years' work experience in business, strategy consulting, journalism, academia, international organizations; experience in a specific research capacity related to advanced manufacturing and production systems is welcome
Excellent verbal and written language skills in English; verbal proficiency in other languages would be an asset
Strong quantitative and data analysis skills as well as fluency in programming languages (R, Python or related) or eagerness to acquire such skills on the job
Strategic thinking with ability to identify trends and patterns of transformation
Demonstrated ability to cultivate digital communities
Strong interpersonal skills and contextual and emotional intelligence
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
