As the BioFuture Plant 0 Lead Automation Engineer, main responsibilities include :
Day to day leadership of the automation team in plant 0, responsible for the delivery of the BioFuture Automation standard in plant 0.
Ensure technical functionality of Automation design in accordance with Novartis standardization and BioFuture manufacturing automation strategy across both the DCS and OMS systems
Day to day support for the Biotechnology Excellence and APMT equipment user team in the use of the automation systems.
Perform trouble shooting of issues related to process control and automation systems.
Develop advanced control strategy implementation within the distributed control system, supporting the needs of future biologics processes.
Co-ordination and implementation of automation modifications and technical changes related to or impacting automation and in association to the BioFuture global database rollouts and governance.
Working with vendors and internal SME to ensure the right automation solutions for full DCS, OMS and historian interaction and interface implementation.
Automation interface from plant 0 to the BioFuture program via the Sr. Strategy and Technology Leader Automation and BioFuture Program Automation Engineer.
Interacts and aligns with Global Automation through Best Practice Networks
Interacts and aligns with other disciplines within the Biotech Excellence group and process development organization.
Ensure quality and safety aspects related to Plant 0 process assets are appropriately addressed and implemented
As a member of the Biofuture Automation Engineering team contributes to goals and strategies of the group
Degree in Automation or a related topic (Dipl. Ing / M. Sc / B.Sc) or equivalent
Fluent English required (oral & written); good skills in German as local site language (oral), desired
8 Years of engineering experience in the pharmaceutical industry (projects & maintenance)
Extended technical knowledge of automation systems within a pharma environment.
Broad knowledge of state-of-the-art and best practice in automation
Broad automation project knowledge (required) and operational experience in the production environment (preferred).
Coding level of experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS platform and batch implementation is essential
Experience with Emerson Syncade OMS platform desired.
Experience in advanced control technique implementation, highly desirable.
Knowledge of OSI-Soft Pi historians is beneficial
GxP and HSE knowledge
Pharmaceutical process knowledge
Experienced in working with internal and external project groups and leading them.
Ability to challenge projects and / or technical solutions
Functional Leadership experience
