Roche’s Learning IT team within Group Functions IT (FG) is looking for talented and highly motivated individual to assume the vacant Senior Solution Architect position.
This individual will work closely with our strategic business partner and stakeholders to understand their vision, process and information needs and collaborates with the solution owner as well as other members of our IT organisation (e.
g. enterprise solution architecture, infrastructure supplier) to identify, design and qualify solution options that support business needs.
You will provide technical leadership and be responsible for establishing the direction for the IT architecture, standards, design and implementation approaches for our global learning application systems and infrastructure.
In this role, your main responsibilities are :
Specifies our learning IT solution architecture, which is consistent within and across groups and drives for re-use and simplicity.
Ensures integration of our enterprise level learning IT applications (cloud and on-premise) and with other components in the Roche infrastructure (in line with IT strategy and technology standards).
Creates, evaluates and implements plans, roadmaps and design proposals for high impact IT solutions and their use involving leading edge technologies and methods considering key factors such as their long-
term effectiveness (service delivery and cost), practicality, technical limitations and criticality, aligned with business strategies.
Drives the implementation of to achieve the vision and results of the solution roadmap.
Identifies innovation potential in IT solutions, suggests investments into new systems and technologies, including proof-
of-concept pilots and vendor evaluations.

You are willing to travel up to approximately 25% globally.
You have a college or university degree in informatics or business informatics. You have at least 5 years of experience in leading the design of enterprise level IT solution architectures and in creating and implementing IT roadmaps.
You have experience integrating cloud and on-premise applications for the field of application learning (preferably Cornerstone), knowledge of computerized systems validation
You have excellent presentation, and communication skills (writing and speaking) at multiple levels and across multiple disciplines in English plus any other language is an advantage.
You are able to create transparency on complex topics.
You are a strong leader with a can-do’ attitude and able to influence people with the goal to improve end user satisfaction.
You have proven your leadership skills by managing a project team or coordinating a group of contributors. You have outstanding organizational and project management skills
You are able to develop a path forward in uncharted, ambiguous situations and territories with minimal guidance. You are structured and outcome oriented, think out of the box, risk-
taking, have an analytical and conceptual mind set which helps you to propose new innovative solutions
You are self-motivated, capable of working with limited supervision, pro-actively managing stakeholders.
