Stanford University invitesapplications for a tenure-track or tenured position made possible in part by agift from the Simons Foundation under the Math+X program, whose goal is toincrease the interaction between mathematics and other disciplines in scienceand engineering.
We are seeking exceptionalapplicants who will develop a program of research and innovative new courses atthe frontier of areas such as computational mathematics / statistics, imagingscience, optimization or any other applicable field.
This is a broad-areasearch. We will place higher priority on the impact, originality, and promiseof the candidate's work than on the particular sub-
area of specialization.Evidence of the ability to pursue a program of innovative research and a strongcommitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching are required.
The successfulcandidate will teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and buildand lead a team of graduate students in PhD research.
Applicants will be consideredfor a joint appointment between either the Department of Mathematics or theDepartment of Statistics and another department of science or engineering, orthe Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering.
