The field-based Medical Advisor Cardiology is a partly office-based and field-based Medical Affairs associate, who provides medical input to the cross-
functional strategy and tactical im-plementation for the launch and commercialization of a Novartis new product. She or he devel-
ops relationships with Medical Experts / Key Stakeholders through scientific interactions and medical education, and seeks external insight to shape Novartis understanding of the thera-
peutic environment. She / he responds to unsolicited requests for scientific information and pro-vides field based support in cross-
functional projects. Region : Switzerland.
Contribute to the development of the medical affairs plan according to global, regional or local strategies and successfully implement projects and tactics (e.
g. scientific events, advi-sory boards, medical education meetings)
Participates in the development of strategic plans in collaboration with other functions (e.g. Marketing and Market Access, Regulatory Affairs) to drive the success of Novartis products
Raises awareness of Novartis products / disease areas through the publication of manu-scripts, presentations and training, according to compliance and local regulations
Collects, analyzes and reports insights (i.e. Customer Relationship Management System) that may impact Novartis development and business plans
Provides and discusses scientific information and data with Health Care Professionals (HCP) to ensure quality and accuracy of medical and scientific information on Novartis products and selected areas of therapeutic interest to support the best use of therapies de-
veloped and commercialized by Novartis
Develops peer to peer professional relationships with Medical Experts and responds to un-solicited requests for scientific information with Medical Experts / Key Stakeholders, HCPs and decision makers.
Collaborates with internal colleagues as assigned by the Therapeutic Area Head, and pro-vides medical support and training (i.
e. disease, product) to Novartis colleagues (e.g. sales force, etc.).
Supports Novartis clinical research teams and investigators on site, plus upon investigator request, liaise between potential researcher and the company on Investigator Initiated Trials (IIT) to support independent clinical / preclinical research.
Evaluates the impact of competitive data to share internally and externally as post-meeting deliverables, and screens for opportunities for Novartis in Cardio & Metabolic to deliver val-ue to patients.
University degree with a scientific bio-medical back-ground (MD, Pharmacist, PhD in life sciences).
Native or near native skills in German. Very good knowledge in French and English (oral and written)
Preferably 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry with good knowledge in Medical Affairs.
Excellent skills in customer related interactions, communication and presentations, proactive collaboration, as well as in project management.
Team player that interacts with others with respect and integrity.
State of the art knowledge in scientific area, as well as knowledge of aspects of drug develop-ment, GCP and local regulations.
Understanding of basic marketing principles and strategies.
