The Department of Mathematics at the University of Louisvilleis seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor levelbeginning Fall 2019.
Preference will begiven to applicants in the area of statistics, but those working in appliedprobability will also be given consideration.
The University of Louisville is aMetropolitan Research University located in Louisville, the largest city inKentucky. The Department currently has 26 tenure stream faculty members andoffers graduate and undergraduate courses in mathematics and statistics leadingto a BA, BS, including an actuarial concentration for the BS, an MA inMathematics and a Ph.
D. degree in Industrial & Applied Mathematics.
Minimum qualifications for this position include a Ph.D.degree, or its equivalent, in the Mathematical / Statistical Sciences withdemonstrated strengths in research and teaching.
Expectations include that thesuccessful applicant will actively engage in research, pursue external fundingand contribute to both undergraduate and graduate instruction, includinggeneral education and service courses.
Abilityto teach actuarial classes is a plus.
