You are utilizing a self-developed Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) source to perform studies of interaction with matter, for the sake of nano-
structuring. Your activity begins with the investigation of fundamental aspects at experimental level, and in particular highlighting the chemical and physical modifications.
The characteristics of the EUV pulse as well as their delivery should be investigated to achieve a robust reproducible process.
Finally you will deploy the system on the fabrication of nano-structured elements, such as MEMS. The latter may be used for spectroscopic applications.
You will also compare your procedure with contending techniques. For that you will have access to additional resources, such as the electron microscopy center, the IBM clean room, and the lab at collaborating Universities.
You can prove to be a self-motivated experimentalist with a recent MSc degree in science or an engineering discipline related to lasers, lithography, chemistry or spectroscopy.
You have proven hands-on creative skills with experimental setups. Excellent degree in English in spoken and written is mandatory.
Knowledge of German is preferred. Skills with signal processing, lab-view programming, laser monitoring, and spectroscopy design are appreciated.

The appointment is initially for one year, with yearly evaluation. The PhD degree is obtained at the University of Zurich, Graduate School for Chemical and Molecular Science.
A teaching commitment at the University is expected.
