The company’s business activities consist of the development, production and marketing of specialty chemicals such as tanning agents and dyestuffs, with which their customers, the tanneries, create leather. Functional Manager: Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Reporting to the COO, the Global Head of Supply Chain is responsible for the effective planning of product supply and the warehousing and delivery activities of finished goods to ensure customers receive a suitable service level at optimal cost.
The jobholder leads the Supply Chain teams on sites, the global Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) team and the global logistics activities. He or she coordinates with Procurement, Manufacturing, R&D and Business colleagues to deliver continual improvements to the cost of product supply and the customer service level.

The Global Head of Supply Chain manages directly 2 FTE at the Headquarters in the Basle/Switzerland area and an additional 5 FTEs in other countries. Indirectly he manages 94 FTEs.

The success of the role depends critically on understanding and optimizing product flows in the company network based on strong underlying processes and an accurate SIOP process. The job holder has to work closely with manufacturing and business functions to maximise the opportunity and benefit to the company.
