Why we are recruiting

The Global Centre for Cybersecurity was established by the World Economic Forum in 2018 to address the global cybersecurity challenges in a strategic, transparent and collaborative manner by leveraging the neutrality of the Forum as an independent organisation.

The centre will act as an independent, neutral force and community multiplier with focus on delivering advice, recommendations and launch coordinated cybersecurity initiatives that will mitigate and minimize risk while inspiring new global efforts to tackle one of the biggest threats to society today.

The centre will also develop a cybersecurity prevention platform as the state-of-the-art connector between stakeholders, and create a trusted exchange hub for the most important information and early warnings.

The Head of Systemic Cyber Threats is a newly created role to provide the centre with a highly experienced cyber expert who will focus on eliminating impact from known criminal networks.

Reporting lines and interactions

This will position report to , Head of the Global Centre for Cybersecurity.

With the growth of the Global Centre for Cybersecurity, the Head of Systemic Cyber Threats may manage a small team of Cyber Threats Community Leads in the future.

This role primarily interacts internally with the centre’s network. It will also maintain close interactions with other Forum constituents.

External interactions will primarily be with Forum Partners and stakeholders in addition to the global cyber community.

Main responsibilities

  • Be responsible, in cooperation with other functions in the centre, for identifying systemic threats to the global use of the internet from criminal actors
  • Monitor and deliver advice on how to eliminate impact from known criminal networks (Carbernak, Dridex, Fin7, Buhtrap and others) and known threat vectors such as DDoS, phishing, ransomware and payment platform attacks
  • Establish dedicated projects to find lasting solutions to eliminate / minimize impact by using all available knowledge and tools (government, law enforcement, regulation, change in behaviour, awareness, legislation)
  • The successful candidate will be assessed on

  • Implementation of a systemic cyber-risk quantification tool
  • Direct contribution to the elimination or mitigation of cybercriminal activity
  • Running a centralized knowledge platform to respond to complex, unpredictable and cascading consequences
  • Formula for success

  • Master’s degree in law enforcement or related field
  • 10+ years’ international experience in law enforcement or security companies
  • Expertise in the cybercriminal environment and the criminal digital market (deep / dark net)
  • Relevant skills : Multistakeholder management Project management Excellent oral and written communication skills Strategic thinking and planning
