Job Description
The Lean Manager is responsible for driving the Lean agenda for the Birr factory, leading projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact on the business.
In this role, he / she partners with the production and the factory functions leaders, contributing to the overall strategy to reduce lead times and inventory levels, driving and sustaining the industrial and cultural change needed to transform manufacturing operations.
He / she is responsible for production process simplification as well as information flow simplification and transformation initiatives using Lean methodologies in accordance with GE's Power Production System.
Responsibilities
Partner with the Plant Leadership Team to define the key value streams that will have the greatest impact on the business and the customer and establish the Lean transformation vision;
define the corresponding plan and ensure execution
Own the productivity deck and lead product cost out reduction efforts in collaboration with Productions Managers & Cell Leaders
Lead or support Maturity Models for Lean and Quality
Serve as a change agent by influencing, communicating and institutionalizing a culture of simplification and standardization
Consistent application of Lean strategies, tools and principles to drive continuous improvement in the Birr Factory
Use VSM (Value Stream Map) to analyze, get focus and set priorities
Inspire own team during the Execution of Kaizen Events and Lean AWOs to observe, understand and evaluate improvement areas in production and transactional processes
Coaching and knowledge transfer to employees
Coordination and implementation of training measures of lean tools for manufacturing and administration areas
Establish appropriate operating rhythms with key stake holders to communicate progress, provide coaching and plan action workouts
Seek, share and institutionalize best practices
Qualification
Higher Education in Operations Management or equivalent qualification
Significant experience in manufacturing operations
Proven track record of lean transformations in high mix / low volume environment
Experience on conducting Kaizen Events and Lean AWOs
Proven leadership experience
Language Skills : German & English
