Position :

Are you a common law or civil law qualifed senior lawyer with Bar exam, health care experience and specialising in the regulatory and privacy side?

This is an exciting inhouse opportunity as part of a leading global player. Role can be based in any of my clients primary European locations such as the UK, Germany or Switzerland.

You will have the responsibility for regulatory and privacy legal guidance within the European region for our client. In this regard, you will be providing high-

quality guidance and support to our client's regulatory and quality assurance teams and other business functions on healthcare and medical device regulatory and privacy matters

The daily job content will involve, but not limited to :

  • Coordinating with and managing external counsel as required for advice in several jurisdictions
  • Working in close cooperation with other in-house counsel and with the EMEA compliance teams to coordinate and streamline efforts for global efficiency
  • Close collaboration with European business partners to understand business needs and advance appropriate solutions
  • Taking primary responsibility for specific projects and / or client groups on matters of moderate to significant complexity
  • Identifying training needs among business stakeholders and developing / presenting training and education regarding regulatory and privacy requirements and developments
  • Participating in product quality investigations when appropriate
  • Relationships with business partners in various functions as well as Legal Department colleagues
  • Performing special assignments or projects if necessary
  • Profile :

  • Qualified lawyer with at least 6 years+ PQE of related privacy, data protection and regulatory experience from life sciences, pharma or medical devices arena
  • Your experience will be either from a top tier law firm and / or as in-house counsel
  • Admitted to the Bar (Europe, UK, Switzerland etc)
  • Experience of working cross-jurisdictionally
  • Civil law and / or common law background - both ideally
  • Proficient in English and at least one additional European language e.g. French or German (written and spoken) a must
  • Significant demonstrated experience and expertise in regulatory law and privacy / data protection requirements
  • Experience across major European jurisdictions’ requirements and best practices for advertising and promoting regulated medical devices
  • Strong European privacy and data protection legal expertise, including GDPR and country-level requirements
  • Decision-making ability and excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solver able to find practical solutions and provide practical guidance
  • Accountable and hands-on, self-starter, results-oriented who can manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
  • EU / EEA / Swiss or equivalent nationals due to work permit regulations
