The Opportunity : Senior Manager, Clinical Partnerships
This is an exciting time to join Arena Pharmaceuticals, a clinical stage biotechnology pharmaceutical company with a robust portfolio of assets across multiple therapeutic areas.
Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Clinical Partnerships, the Senior Manager, Clinical Partnerships will be part of the Clinical Partnerships team and will be primarily responsible for the oversight of patient recruitment vendor deliverables which includes creation of patient recruitment materials from development through IRB / EC approvals, shipments / launches.
S / he will also build strong cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all input is factored into defining patient recruitment toolkits and tactics with oversight of Global CP Lead.
S / he may assist in new vendor identification and initiatives.
What you’ll dive into :
Assist Global CP Lead with development and implementation of recruitment and retention strategies, study-level / site-level recruitment plans in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal cross-functional stakeholders in the evaluation, selection, and management of vendors to ensure successful recruitment implementation / execution.
Drive and partner with internal functions, CRO partners / vendors on the development, preparation of patient recruitment tools, tactics as appropriate for the trial and facilitate internal compliance review / external ethics review boards, as needed.
Provide input for budget development, budget management for recruitment tools and tactics.
Track progress of recruitment / retention initiatives and provide metrics reports, status updates to management / study teams.
Collaborate with the clinical trial teams to achieve recruitment deliverables using innovative tactics.
Develop and maintain knowledge of external, local clinical trial environment and assess developments for impact on patient recruitment initiatives.
Provide guidance on shared learnings with and across program teams throughout planning and implementation, as well as ensure clinical operational deliverables and timelines are met.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientifically related field.
10+ years of relevant and progressive experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech company (either clinical research, patient recruitment group preferred)
Significant experience in working with vendors / vendor oversight preferred.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the drug development and clinical trial process.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and global team environment where results are achieved through influence, cooperation, and the incorporation of multiple points of view.
Independently motivated, detail oriented, good interpersonal skills and good problem-solving ability.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with an ability to embrace change and multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to organize multiple priorities, projects and to deliver high quality work according to tight timelines
Demonstrates excellent communication (verbal / written / presentation) skills
