Description : Fitchburg State University is seeking one full-time, tenure-track assistant professor to teach courses in Mathematics.
The position requires an earned doctorate in a mathematical discipline. All areas of specialization will be considered. Preference will be given to those who show evidence of excellence in teaching.
Additionally, those with experience in Statistics are especially encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities :
1.Teaching workload (24 semester hours of credit of instruction per school year), and preparation for classroom instruction including developmental courses, service courses, and upper level major courses.
2.Prepare for the assigned classroom and / or laboratory instruction.3.Participate in continuing scholarship and professional activities, which include contribution to the content of the discipline, participation in or contribution to professional organizations and societies, public service and contributions to the professional growth and development of the university community.
4.Provide student assistance including academic advising.5.Participate in curriculum review and development, program reviews and student outcomes assessment.
6.Attend committee meetings and university functions, including commencement and convocation.
1.Ph.D. in Mathematics or related field required by June 30, 2019.2.Commitment to excellence in teaching.3.Teaching experience required.
4.Evidence of scholarly / creative activity.5.Ability to integrate appropriate technology and software in teaching.6.Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
7.Ability to work collegially within a department and with other departments and offices.8.Ability to perform research that will engage undergraduate students.
9.Ability to perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodations.10.Experience serving, and / or research related to diverse, multi-
