Scientific Advisor Cardiovascular, Switzerland

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Scientific Advisor for the BMS Cardiovascular franchise in Switzerland to join our team.

The Scientific Advisor role at BMS is a blend of office-based and field-based (up to 50%) roles and responsibilities and has a reporting line through the medical function.

The successful candidate will be the primary medical representative for our Cardiovascular franchise and will develop and deliver the medical plan in close collaboration with the wider cross-functional team including Field Medical, Commercial, Sales and Regulatory.

By championing both team spirit and an entrepreneurial mindset, the Scientific Advisor CV will act as a facilitator and medical partner within an energetic Alliance team advancing our activities in the cardiovascular area and advocating better quality of life for patients.

In order to enable success in the role, key areas of focus will include :

  • Develop and deliver the Medical Plan in alignment with the overall Brand Strategy
  • Design and execute the local medical plan in alignment with the global brand strategy and medical strategic imperatives.
  • Present the Medical Plan to the Leadership team.

  • Plan and deliver high quality and innovative medical education activities meeting customer needs, using experience and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Identify unmet medical needs in a rapidly evolving treatment landscape, champion the planning and successful execution of Advisory Boards with national / global KOLs using innovative approaches.
  • Act as respected business partner in the brand team, contribute to the development of medical content in materials, deliver efficient medical review of materials according to local rules and best practices with Alliance partner.
  • Actively engage in Brand Plan presentations and ensure medical excellence of the Sales Force team through regular internal trainings, in close collaboration with Field Medical.
  • Closely collaborate with Alliance partner across all functional units and shape the short- and long-term overall strategy in the joined brand team.
  • Hold full budget responsibility and have oversight in planning and execution of projects.
  • External Environment and Customer Focus (up to 50%)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, Thought Leaders and other appropriate stakeholders, identify opportunities to enhance disease awareness and enable better patient care through innovative educational tools and approaches.
  • Closely collaborate with Field Medical and identify physician needs in an evolving therapeutic landscape. Feed into brand strategy.
  • Collect and provide meaningful medical insights back to the medical and commercial organizations to inform the overall brand strategy.
  • Flawlessly plan and execute all medical projects against the medical plan.
  • Qualifications needed to fulfil this role :

  • University degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, Msc, others) required.
  • Proven track record as a Field Medical / Medical Advisor required.
  • Experience in CV and existing network of HCPs preferred.
  • Experience in Alliance teams preferred.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication & presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel within Switzerland (up to 50%).
  • Proficiency in German and English is required, French is a plus.
