The Interdisciplinary Centre for Mountain Research (CIRM) seeks to fill a position of First Assistant (Post-doc) on Mountain Socio-Ecological Systems .

The CIRM brings together more than 80 researchers working on mountain topics by combining the social and the natural sciences.

It offers an international, interdisciplinary and stimulating environment conducive to high-level research. It regularly hosts conferences and guest researchers and develops research oriented towards the needs of mountain regions, in particular the Valais and Vaud Alps.

Your responsibilities

The candidate will conduct personal research on mountain socio-ecological systems. By mountain socio-ecological systems we mean any system at the interface between society and nature in mountain regions.

The research project should be interdisciplinary (combining natural sciences and human / social sciences) and transdisciplinary (in relation with actors from the two privileged .

The candidate must have a proven experience in socio-ecological research. The research will be jointly supervised by a professor or MER (lecturer) from two different disciplinary fields, .

The research may be carried out in collaboration with one of the .

The candidate will devote 80% of his / her time to personal research (post-doc) and 10% to CIRM activities.

Your qualifications

The successful candidate is expected to have earned a Doctoral degree, with a dissertation on an analysis of the relationship between nature and society, preferably in mountain regions.

Language skills in French and English are expected.
