As a new addition to our Swiss Leadership Team and based in Lucerne, Switzerland, we are looking for a Chief of Staff and Business Unit Director, to support the growth of our portfolio in Switzerland (Full-time, indefinite).
As Chief of Staff you will be working closely with the Managing Director, ensuring key global, regional and country projects are well implemented to meet our short and long-
term strategic objectives.As Business Unit Director you will lead an exciting and diverse team in charge of new products and our mature portfolio.
THE PRIMARY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
Chief of Staff :
Communication : Ensure the Managing Director is adequately prepared for all internal and external engagements working with the relevant subject matter experts within the organization.
Work closely with communications to ensure that messages reflect the current thinking & strategy and are appropriate for the given audience.
Business Reviews / Visits : Prepare agendas / presentations and coordinate all the business reviews / visits with the LT.
Take the minutes and follow-ups and run / coordinate the respective task lists.
Project Management : Proactively identify and execute projects of strategic importance to MSD Switzerland, oversee management & coordination of key initiatives / efforts which are often cross divisional / cross functional.
Being the communicator / connector / catalyst for various cross divisional projects.
Business Unit Director Marketing :
New Products : keep oversight of product launch end to end processes. Support the new product manager to coordinate and ensure traction and internal alignment of all cross functional stakeholders.
Prepare launches to maximize their uptake.
Mature portfolio : Maximize our woman health and diversified brand portfolio by identifying, developing, prioritizing and implementing relevant marketing and sales activities with the support of the team.
Team management : retain, attract and develop talent.
Higher degree in Economics, Life Sciences or another relevant discipline; MBA preferred
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Pharma / Biotech industry with Experience in Strategic Consulting firm, Pharmaceutical Business Development, Entrepreneurial Projects and / or other commercially focused roles
Very good Project Execution and Coordination skills. Proven track record of getting things done . Organized, results-oriented, and strategic thinker
Expertise in Networking and Communication via non-hierarchical influence. Proven ability to effectively navigate matrix organization are crucial.
Ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders
Analytical Thinking. Ability to problem solve, think holistically about organizational solutions to complex problems, create order and simplicity out of complex problems.
Proven analytical capabilities, ability to set up forecast models & make robust business cases
Strong Business acumen
Business fluency English both written and verbal. French or German Knowledge are advantageous
