Global Product Strategy (GPS) drives Roche’s strategy and portfolio of products - from research through to patients. As a member of GPS, you will be part of a truly international group who collaborate with functions and affiliates worldwide to craft the future of medicine.
GPS Global Access (AS) is the department in GPS that drives our access and pricing strategy, developing solutions and shaping policies with the core aim to improve access for all.
We are currently looking for a Health Systems Strategy Leader (HSSL) to support our Basel-based team in entrepreneurially defining Roche’s Value Based Healthcare strategy centered on the improvement of patient outcomes and sustainability of healthcare systems.
In partnership with key global functions, affiliate teams and key external partners, you will co-lead the definition of Roche’s global VBHC strategy and position as well as support the implementation of Roche’s VBHC pilots globally.
More specifically you will :
investigate opportunities to leverage all available Roche corporate assets across the patient pathway (e.g. pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, clinical decision support, digital tool, Real World Data, etc.
and design innovative access models to ensure fast, broad and sustainable access to our offerings.
lead foundational collaborations with other healthcare companies and public bodies.
support affiliates in delivering local VBHC pilots through thought leadership, project management and by coordinating internal and external resources across identified projects.
As an HSSL VBHC your key accountabilities will be :
Act as a Global Access contact to affiliate cross-functional teams and other internal functions in matters related to VBHC strategies and programs
Disseminate VBHC Roche across the organisation and support cross-country learnings amongst pilot countries .
Drive awareness, mobilize and align around Roche’s VBHC principles to ensure appropriate support to ongoing programs.
Identify opportunities across the organisation to strengthen our business model and offerings to Healthcare Systems by adopting a VBHC strategic framework.
Support the development and implementation of pilots via thought leadership and by engaging resources as needed to support affiliate teams.
Engage and mobilize external partner network to ensure VBHC Roche strategies and tactics are co-created for maximum impact
Build and shape external collaborations to enable Healthcare System adoption of VBHC.
Apply thought leadership and consulting skills to ensure affiliate access needs are rapidly understood, mobilised around, and met.
Co-design innovative access and business models in line with VBHC principles and strategy
Co-define new commercial offerings rewarding patient relevant outcomes and resource use optimization along the patient pathway
Define & deliver access partnering plan to accelerate Roche’s VBHC strategy and implementation
Collaboration / Ways of working
Model and drive co-creation principles within and outside of Roche to ensure all strategies and operational plans account for key partner’s needs and drive value maximisation patients and healthcare systems

To be successful we believe you will need 5 years of experience in the healthcare or related industry
What else do you need in your toolbox?
A university degree or advanced degree, (MD, Science, MBA, PM), a business or finance background or equivalent experience.
Specialized education in Health Policy, Access or Value Based Healthcare preferred
Demonstrated leadership experience in an international environment
Capable of establishing and maintaining relationships with key institutions and advocacy organizations, experience of partnership with thought leaders and external organizations strongly preferred
Proven track record of strong internal and external relationship building and influencing strategic and operational improvements and innovation
Broad understanding of business context, incl. access evidence requirements and external value / decision-making drivers
Considerable experience with and proven knowledge of healthcare systems, healthcare management and financing systems
Experience with RWD resource use, costing models, and PRO measurement
Fluency in written and spoken English
Affiliate experience preferred
