JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT

We seek a progressive Senior Oil and Tanker Analyst who, as subject matter authority, will independently retrieve, analyze and summarize data to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness and predict business outcomes.

In this role you will collect, analyze and interpret marketplace trends and provide trading and strategy recommendations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop and drive new analysis approaches and methodologies.

Work with global trading desk heads daily on strategic direction, by advocating for trading positions, using analytic data.

Create complex models to compile research and adjusts the models as necessary to revise the strategy.

Research competitor behavior including marketing strategies, pricing, sales and methods of operation.

Independently track market conditions, trends and competitors to project demand and inform product launch timing.

You will serve as an expert in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues / problems.

You may provide direction to lower level team members and be a key contributor.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Minimum of six years of work experience, preferably as an Oil market fundamental analyst in a trading, shipping or energy domain.

Deep understanding of oil refineries, margins, crude and product trade flows as well as transportation fuels.

Wide network in oil / fuel / energy industry
