Role Purpose :
B&Q has significantly enhanced the integration of Consumer PR intoMarketing campaigns.You will beresponsible for executing the Consumer PR strategy for the business and thereforeneed to be passionate about consumer brand and consumer media engagement, andthe broader context of content-led marketing.
The consumer PR campaigns you create and deliver will support B&Q'soffer (products / services) and the B&Q brand values and personality;
byinfluencing editorial content in earned media : news and consumer, traditionaland digital; to drive footfall and brand loyalty, preference & desire
The role includes management of National Press Office resource
Role Objectives :
Identifies,and leads PR agency to identify, relevant PR opportunities promote brandreputation and enhance consumer brand preference and / or desire.
Manages and deliversthe Consumer PR activation for Seasonal Marketing campaigns
Manages thePR agency to deliver timely Content ideas as per campaign brief and ensuresdelivery of agreed PR Content is on message and aligns with B&Q brandguidelines (tone, personality)
Works closelywith the Content Lead and other channels through the Content Partnership toensure PR Content is integrated with other channels
Leads oncampaign data / insight for all outputs generated by the Consumer PR assets tosupport future campaign development
Supports theinfluencer strategy, across POE, and leads on delivery in earned, working withother channels as appropriate
Leads oncoordination and delivery of media events and consumer experiential as part ofMarketing campaigns.
Has day today management of the external national PR agency and national Press Office tocreate and deliver results that protect and enhance B&Qs reputation
Formseffective relationships within KF PR Group and with key external stakeholdersand influencers (including consumer media, influencers, event managers, PRs forvendors, NGOs) to support opportunities for specific consumer PR activations
Knowledge and Experience Required :
Backgroundin Consumer Media and PR within an integrated comms team (ideally FMCG orretail)
PreviousPress office experience with national / global brand, both proactive and reactive
Nationalconsumer media exposure (ideally to include home & lifestyle)
Excellentverbal and written communication skills
Rigorous,positive, down-to-earth, flexible, creative and committed individual
Aninnovative forward-thinker - willing to experiment and take risks
Greatproject management organisational skills and a real eye for detail
Theability to create strong working relationships with both internal and externalcustomers
Tenacity,drive and determination to find the right answers from a variety of sources
Theproven ability and passion to investigate, evaluate and analyse information
