Ensure that the reporting of 3rd party AR Balances and EFA is correct, accurate and compliant. This includes active participation in monthly closing and reporting activities for Alcon Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Lead reporting of EFAs including month-end reporting of corresponding FCRS schedules as well as Sales and COGS reporting in NPMR.
Provide high quality reporting with insightful financial information for key stakeholders within APL including FRA Managers, Head of FRA and CFO.
Business partner for various groups within NBS (FSC), the Alcon Division (BPA, Export Markets) or the Novartis Group (Group FRA Ops, Novartis International, etc.).
Lead improvement initiatives or projects to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of daily AR operations, AR processes as well as the collaboration with stakeholders.
Lead AR initiatives or project work streams on current accounting projects to improve AR operations, processes and the collaboration with various stakeholders.
Be the central point of contact for AR EFA reporting related questions. Ensure accurate reporting of AR balances and EFA schedules in FCRS.
Responsible for the monthly Sales and COGS reporting in NPMR (C220) and reconciliation with JDE and FCRS.
Ensure timely booking and allocation of all payments of 3rd party customers (C220, C106). Coordinate the work between the AR team.
Follow up with markets and customer service on unidentified incoming payments and allocation thereof. Review bookings by the AR team, identify errors and coach AR accountants with the correction of the errors so that issues can be avoided in future.
Responsible for customer accounts, involving close follow up with Market and Customer for allocation of credits against oldest debt and other.
Ensure the finalization of BAD DEBT provision at month end, including EFA / Installment sales. Oversee the Mid-Month Provision forecast to markets, forecast reflecting end of month provision and projected forecast for 2 months following current month.
Ensure AR related high-risk and low-risk accounts are timely reconciled (e.g. bad debt, Inter Company receivable, EFA, installment deals related accounts).
Customer Service Responsibility
Maintain good working relationships within the AR Team and with other teams in APL organization. Ensure clear and proactive communication with stakeholders (APL Finance, FSC, BPA, Export Markets, Customer Service, etc).
Be a strong support to the Manager in achieving team objectives, leading process improvements and fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Promote team co-operation and collaboration. Coach AR accountants with newly assigned tasks or ongoing technical AR related questions.
Training / knowledge-sharing with other team members is expected.
Add value to the AR responsibilities through fresh insights, outside-the-box thinking and enhanced analytics. Back-up Manager for business critical tasks.
Your Profile :
Education (minimum / desirable) : University degree in Finance / Business Management, or professional accounting qualification with 2-
5 years of experience in a finance environment, preferably in Accounts Receivable department.
Or alternatively, Swiss Business Education (Kaufmännische Ausbildung / CFC Employé(e) de commerce or similar) with more than 5 -
7 years of relevant work experience in a finance environment focusing on accounts receivables.
Languages : English fluent (written / spoken), any other European language an advantage
