The Contract Manager is accountable for all pre and post contractual matters which include the review, drafting and negotiation of contracts, and the thorough monitoring of the performance of a contract until it's close-out in order to minimize risks and to ensure the delivery of projects on time and within budget.


  • Develops and reviews of EOI, RFP documentation;
  • Participates in Risk Reviews and provides contractual input;
  • Sets-up and maintains tender and contract clarification schedules;
  • Manages tender evaluations, clarifications and normalizations;
  • Ensures consistency of contractual requirements within projects;
  • Is involved in the procurement of consulting organisations (Architects, Consulting Engineers, Project Management organisations) and works with those organisations and local teams to devise procurement strategies, pre-qualifications, procurement of contractor entities or consortia;
  • Is responsible for Change Order management and administration;
  • Partakes in Risk & Opportunities Reviews and Risk Mitigation strategies development;
  • Is responsible for Contract and Procurement Status Reporting;
  • Develops and maintains informative dashboards;
  • Creates implements and manages Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Reporting;
  • Ensures requirements for adequate contemporaneous records are mandated and delivered, also in conjunction with a document control system;
  • Ensures contract correspondence is properly managed and contractual response timelines are adhered to;
  • Reviews all contract correspondence, not limited to formal letters, RFI s, Engineer s Instructions, Site Records, Regular Reporting, Contractor Schedule Updates and Time Impact Analyses, Potential Claims, Notices and other;
  • Liaises with relevant intercompany departments, including Legal, Finance, Project Controls, as well as relevant external Stakeholders;
  • Administers Monthly Progress Payment Certificates and Payments for approval;
  • Follows up contractual and commercial close-out of projects, including claims management, DRB, Take-Over and Completion Certificates;
  • Works closely with Project Managers and Project Controls Leads to ensure accurate and timely reporting; and manages the contractual administration of our projects;
  • If the company engages Program Management Consultants, ensures that the company requirements are clear and concise, maintains oversight and control, and ensures Governance.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS (skills, competencies, experience)

  • Fluent English is mandatory, any other language is a plus;
  • University Degree (B.Sc. or higher) is required. Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Law, MRICS, MInstCES, is an advantage;
  • 15+ years of demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role, managing complex projects;
  • Excellent knowledge of different kind of contracts, or service agreements, and tenderer selection process;
  • Proficient with Xls, MS office, Microsoft Project and Primavera;
  • Experience in formulating procedural and contractual workflows and in developing governance procedures;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
  • Availability to travel extensively;
  • Strong planning, organization, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
