Job Summary

We are looking for a Compensation Specialist based in Basel, who reports to the Total Rewards Partner for the Corporate Functions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Lonza and to support the development and implementation of compensation policies, programs and initiatives.

The role contributes towards the success of the team by advising on and maintaining various programs while supporting new initiatives.

Specifically, it also provides compensation specialist knowledge in a global capacity, which may include global grading evaluations, development of competitive Total Rewards offers for candidates, salary review process guidance, ad-

hoc benchmarking, development of salary ranges, and / or cost modelling analyses.

The Opportunity

  • Perform job evaluations in the TowersWatson Global Grading System and document and communicate the result to the HR Business Partners and line managers
  • Create and advise on competitive offers for external candidates on basis of Lonza’s Total Rewards offerings
  • Design, implement and administer various compensation policies, processes, and guidelines to drive Lonza’s Total Rewards philosophy
  • Provide first-level compensation support to HR Business Partners and line managers by explaining core compensation concepts and applying them on incoming queries
  • Assist in creating and delivering compelling compensation trainings
  • Monitor market trends and legislation and recommend appropriate program or structural changes to ensure long-term market competitiveness
  • Complete compensation surveys as part of the annual external benchmarking
  • Conduct in-depth compensation analyses and formulate recommendations ensuring cost-efficient market competitiveness
  • Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred area of study : Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics; alternatively, 3-year vocational education such as EFZ with relevant work experience.
  • Ideally 3-4 years working experience, in large multinational organizations or consulting
  • Excellent MS Office, in particular Excel
  • Highly detail oriented while capable to view processes end-to-end and identify improvement opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates clear and sound judgment on transformation of data and absolute discretion working with sensitive data
  • Team oriented
  • Excellent problem solving skills in constructive / realizable solutions
  • Languages : English (fluent), any additional of advantage
