Description

The Product Development Engineer / Scientist (PDE) is responsible for Life Cycle Management activities on company’s Design Control process, other related living procedures and on launched products.

Main purpose are remediation activities (i.e. triggered by Medical Device Regulations) for the existing product portfolio : Design Control Procedures improvements and Technical File updates.

The PDE further acts as a general point of knowledge for Design Control, Engineering Changes and Technical File content. The PDE is a strong support for the Subject Matter Experts in improving the various Design Control Process procedures.Main Responsibilities :

  • Sustain the existing product portfolio over the full life cycle in compliance with the company’s Design Control process and other relevant guidelines (i.e. MDR).
  • Plan, perform and create / update technical files.
  • Ensure that documents are uniform, accurate and comply with applicable engineering, medical device and Nobel Biocare standards.
  • Manage internal (e.g. manufacturing sites) and external partners (e.g. suppliers) in relation to assigned activities.
  • Identify process and product improvements and support improvement requests for other departments and / or triggered by new standards / regulations.
  • Be a central point of knowledge of and comply with all relevant PD guidelines and procedures such as Design Control process and Change Control process.

  • Ensure all required specifications and related documentation are in place in due time and quality to assure timely completion (e.
  • g. Design Reviews, Design Transfer, Change Order).

  • Continuously report achievements and escalates challenges in a timely manner.
  • Qualifications

  • Technical or Scientist background (BSc, MSc or equivalent) in relevant field : human and movement science, material, biomedical or mechanical engineering.
  • Fluent in English, German is an asset (spoken and written).
  • Good understanding of impact of product changes on documentation, design, process, quality.
  • Good understanding of impact of medical device regulation on documentation, procedures, products.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills with ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Able to work process flow oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively with other groups and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders / good communication skills.
  • Preferably two or plus (2+) years of successful working experience in product development, quality assurance, regulatory affairs or design engineering in medical device, pharmaceutical industry or other highly regulated environments, preferably in the dental industry.
