Associate Director Finance - Strategic Management Office

based in Allschwil / Basel, Switzerland.

Primary Job Function :

  • The role of the Strategic Management Office (SMO) is to define and deliver strategic business improvement initiatives, to drive business growth, reduce complexity and cost, build organizational capabilities and ensure improvements are sustainable
  • The Associate Director Finance, SMO would be responsible for structuring, diagnosing, designing and delivering strategic improvement initiatives across EPD, supporting and leading cross functional teams from across the business
  • A key element of the role is to provide strategic financial analysis and insight to enable fact-based decision making and robust assessment of business cases / improvement proposals
  • The role will develop and implement processes, tools and techniques to drive efficiency and standardization, in collaboration with the Director Finance Transformation, EPD.
  • Core Job Responsibilities :

  • Identify and conduct detailed assessment and design of strategic initiatives, providing insights and best practices in terms of strategic finance perspective
  • To diagnose current state financial analysis, identify improvement areas and to lead / support cross-functional teams to implement improvement actions
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement and solve business problems
  • Assess and challenge departmental and broader EPD processes with the aim of innovation and operational excellence
  • Provide and promote thorough, competent analysis of EPD performance, business cases and strategic improvement initiatives at all levels
  • Proactively track SMO budget and steer spending as appropriate through strong governance
  • Minimum Experience / Training Required :

  • Graduate from a reputed institute
  • 8-10 years of finance / strategic finance experience
  • Prior experience in driving strategic projects and cross-functional teams is a must
  • Prior experience in emerging markets is preferred
  • Strategic and project management conceptualization / articulation skills
  • Driver of change, collaborative business partnering whilst role-modelling professionalism and integrity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to navigate and analyze the P&L to identify insights
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels and functions; capable of presenting complex financial information and project plans in easy-to-understand formats and terms
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities
