For DPS (Drug Product Services) in Basel Switzerland, we have an open position for a Principal Scientist in our growing Phys-
Chem QC. Working closely with Analytical and Formulation Development, this team offers specialized services solutions for customers.

Key Accountabilities and Duties
Work in a GMP regulated DP analytical unit to provide services for biologics, small molecule and peptide parenterals for clinical and commercial products
Organize and support QC activities for release and stability testing of clinical and commercial drug products, including, but not limited to preparing release and stability specifications, drafting validation and stability protocols / reports, and reviewing of release / stability data according to cGMP regulations
Ensure effective use of resources (time, personnel, equipment, material, rooms), maintenance of equipment, safety and health protection and all cGMP regulations
Supervise the installation, qualification and maintenance of all instruments for DP Phys-Chem analytics in close alignment with current best practices and regulations
Establish analytical methods and technologies to support DP QC activities (specifically including HPLC and CE purity methods, content, identity, color, clarity and opalescence, pH, osmolality, extractable volume, CCI, visual inspection, etc.)
Lead and manage a team of lab scientists within the Phys-Chem Analytics QC group, also in a matrix organization.
Liaise and coordinate activities with partner units within the Lonza network to ensure the successful delivery of projects
Enable innovation and technical strategy projects, evaluate and implement new methods, as required
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications / Skills
PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field
2 years of industry, working experience in analytical development and quality control, preferably under cGMP regulations
Excellent working knowledge in all relevant analytical techniques
Excellent communication skills
Excellent reporting and scientific skills
Excellent ability to interpret complex analytical data
Excellent supervisory skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Good inter-personal skills
Enthusiastic and open-minded
Willingness to learn and carry out new and complex tasks
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
