Job Description

The Strategy Implementation Lead contributes to the functional strategy formulation and is accountable for the detailing of the respective roadmap.

The role drives and is accountable for setting up and delivering (cross-functional) CD&A initiatives, and to oversee their sustainable implementation with KPIs.

The roles horizontally leads in those initiatives to achieve impact and customer-focused solutions and uses advanced stakeholder management as well as project & change management approaches, effective also at executive levels, to achieve best in class results.

The role uses advanced presentation and story lining techniques to deliver materials that prepare and drive strategic changes and can be leveraged in several formats and audiences.

You will be responsible but not limited to :

Strategy Development

  • Works with Head of C&A and Head of Strategy & Operations to develop functional strategy and implementation roadmap
  • Details key initiatives that enable functional strategy implementation. Drives prioritization of initiatives based on quantitative and qualitative measures, aligns resources with prioritization
  • Interfaces with partnering functions both in GDD or corporate level to align initiatives goals and plans for joint implementation
  • Uses benchmarks and (external) best practices to develop innovative approaches
  • Strategic Initiatives

  • Defines scope of key strategic initiatives and drives their execution from an end-to-end perspectives. This includes the development of a professional project charter and plans, consisting of objectives / goals / stakeholders / timelines / resources, as well as advanced risk and mitigation management.
  • Applies established project management principles and frameworks (e.g. LEAN Six Sigma, Design Thinking, SCRUM etc.), based on specific initiative requirements, and is responsible that projects deliver mid and long term impact as well as customer-focused solutions
  • Builds governance as required to achieve initiative goals and manages stakeholders to ensure project support and cross-functional alignment
  • Ensures successful implementation of initiatives that drive sustainable change, driving measurement of adoption and performance metrics;
  • oversees planning of required capabilities to sustainable implement initiatives


  • Supports Head of Strategy & Operations with the preparation and facilitation of leadership meetings (e.g. driving agenda, action tracking and respective material preparation)
  • Provides overview of initiative portfolio, status, and roadmap that reflects progression of strategy implementation
  • In collaboration with Strategic Resource and Performance Lead, ensures that KPIs reflect organizational performance, and analyze functional performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
  • Drives overall project management skills in CD&A, and acts as project management consultant to less experienced project teams
  • Develops approaches to drive a curious, inspired, and unbossed culture in CD&A
  • Minimum requirements

  • Master degree; Management Consulting and / or Project Management experience highly preferred
  • Fluent English (oral and written), with demonstrated proficiency in delivery of materials and documents for senior leadership decision making
  • At least 10 years Change management / Project management experience, with several years (preferably 5>
  • years’ experience in life sciences / healthcare / pharma industry).

  • Proven track record in defining, delivery and horizontal leadership of complex cross-functional initiatives; highly advanced toolbox on project and initiative management
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, scenario evaluation, contingency planning and operational effectiveness / innovation
  • Proven success as leader of multidisciplinary teams, a track record of successful project delivery and implementation
  • Demonstrated courage to assume personal accountability in challenging situations. Strong leadership presence with the ability to present and interact with senior management
  • Ability to influence without authority. Strong interpersonal skills

    Strong project management skills, able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and unexpected events while maintaining a positive work attitude
