Main responsibilities

PR & Communication

  • Take forward and implement a global PR & Communication strategy and action plan for the OFCH aimed at increasing international awareness and enhancing reputation
  • Leverage and amplify OFCH cultural projects, assets and expertise within and outside the Olympic Movement
  • Manage local, regional and national PR strategies for The Olympic Museum and the Olympic Studies Centre
  • Manage and execute an ongoing editorial calendar for the OFCH, ensuring visibility for its various projects and activities on multiple platforms
  • Create and execute standalone communication campaigns for major OFCH projects, such as Olympic culture and heritage programmes at the Olympic Games
  • Provide engaging OFCH content to the media, IOC platforms & the public
  • Promote and disseminate contents on partners’, influencers’ or other specific platforms (blogs, specialized media, events and other)
  • Provide the OFCH teams with tools, knowledge and know-how regarding communication; oversee the implementation of the action plans
  • Measure, report and adjust communications activities based on outcomes of media monitoring
  • Media Relations

  • Manage and develop relations with traditional and digital media, at the local, national and international levels
  • Proactively manage continual updating of the OFCH media distribution list
  • Create, build and nurture trusting relationships with key media notably in the culture / tourism / leisure sectors. Provide them with engaging content and opportunities
  • Oversee and manage The Olympic Museum Press Office and day-to-day media relations with local, regional and national Swiss traditional and digital media
  • Coordinate the production of high-quality and impeccably written materials for the press (press-releases, press kits, advisories) and organise and manage press events such as press conferences, briefings and interviews.
  • Make sure that all external communication about the OFCH and its projects is kept up to date on the on the OFCH and IOC digital platforms

  • Provide media training to OFCH staff, as and when required, and support them in the event of media interactions
  • OFCH Internal Communications

  • Plan and lead internal communications including a monthly newsletter for OFCH staff
  • Liaise with IOC’s Internal Communications team to ensure a high level of internal visibility for all OFCH units and activities;
  • ensure a smooth and constructive information flow and collaboration

    Our requirements

  • Deep and recognized experience in managing and implementing PR and communication strategies, and editorial content, with a journalist background
  • High education qualification or equivalent (master's / bachelor's degree) or equivalent professional experience in communication, journalism or related field
  • Excellent understanding of all types of editorial content; written, images and video
  • Strong understanding of the media and digital landscape
  • Brings existing relationships with key media and journalists to the role
  • Previous experience within the arts and culture sector and / or the Olympic Movement will be a plus
  • Proven record of outstanding written, and verbal communication skills, in English and / or French
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, presentation and project management skills
  • Strong ability to formulate and prioritize messages in a highly political environment
  • Ability to anticipate and mitigate potential reputational issues, demonstrating sound judgment and discretion
  • Fluency in English or French, with excellent command of the other language
  • Excellent command of the corporate tools (MS Office 365, Teams, etc.).
  • Attention to detail oriented with a focus on precision and accuracy
  • Result-oriented approach with a track record of success
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Ability to promote teamwork, creativity, and open communication
