Corporate Engagement Specialist Corporate Sustainability Engagement Specialist

The Location : Zurich

The Role : S&P Global Sustainable1, the single source of essential sustainability intelligence, is seeking an experienced sustainability professional to join our Corporate Engagement team.

The role provides an opportunity to work at the forefront of innovation in the field of corporate sustainability. The successful candidates will help to expand corporate participation in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).

Your main tasks will include :

  • Promotes CSA participation to current and target customers.
  • Maintaining and developing a network of ESG contacts at CSA invited companies to encourage their CSA participation, by engaging them pro-actively.
  • Supporting company's use of the CSA portal to enable a smooth CSA process and ensure awareness of all available free tools and additional services
  • Act as liaison between companies and the CSA Research team to answer methodology and assessment related questions
  • Organization of and participation in internal and external workshops, webcasts and management meetings with companies
  • Utilize CRM to monitor pipeline and engagement status
  • Focus on engaging more complex clients and at more senior level, identifying the key decision makers and developing a company specific engagement approach
  • Lead development of convincing and efficient communication templates related CSA invitation, results, and onboarding as well as supporting one off communication needs
  • The Impact :

    The CSA is S&P Global's central tool to engage corporates to report on and improve their ESG performance. CSA results and collected data are used to power the diverse set of ESG products and services at S&P Global, ranging from indices like the world renown Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) to ESG Evaluation services at S&P Global Ratings.

    ESG focused investors need reliable and complete information on corporate ESG performance for their portfolio selection.

    CSA scores and data empower decision makers to identify ESG top performers and channel investments to support their ESG goals.

    The Career Opportunity :

    The CSA has been in operation since 1999 with a focus on the world's largest 3500 companies. In 2021 the research universe was extended to over 10,000 companies and will be further extended in the future.

    The Corporate Engagement team is newly established to engage the increasing number of invited companies and will grow substantially over the next years.

    We are searching for people that are passionate about sustainability and would like to join a project-focused, international team of like-minded people, driven to deliver excellence in managing the worlds' most known Corporate Sustainability Assessment.

    Our department is project-focused and relies on our proprietary methodology and software to manage the corporate engagement and participation process.

    Requirements :

    Your qualifications :

  • A completed university degree
  • 5+ years of work experience in the field of ESG ratings or research, corporate sustainability or sustainability investing
  • Hands on experience with the CSA and / or other ESG ratings and rankings
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • A sound understanding of global sustainability reporting frameworks and trends
  • Good understanding of financial markets and investment products
  • Strong analytical skills and an acute attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of Salesforce, MS Excel and other IT tools
  • Excellent written and spoken English
