ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN MATHEMATICSBEGINNING FALL 2019
Scripps College, a women’s liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, invites applications for a tenure-
track position at the Assistant Professor level in mathematics. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics and be able to demonstrate outstanding teaching and mentoring skills as well as an active research program.
The teaching load is 2-2, plus senior thesis advising. The candidate should expect to teach courses from calculus up to and including differential equations.
The successful candidate will be able to offer upper division electives which students could use toward both the mathematics major and consortial computer science majors.
Participation in the Core Curriculum in Interdisciplinary Humanities program is expected. Preference will be given to applicants with a commitment to the College’s goal of improving higher education for underrepresented students.
