Please visit We are seeking a strategic and progressive Lead HRBP, who will be a key part of both the International HR team and global HR leadership team and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on a fast-growing business.
Reporting directly to the VP, HR Business Partners (US based) this role will be responsible for partnering with the heads of the CEMEA and ASIA Regions and ensuring the ongoing establishment of HR operating activities.
Together with the existing team this role will be responsible for supporting a constantly growing employee base across multiple countries.
Alnylam is a rapidly expanding biotech company undergoing 40% growth year on year in the International regions. In addition to the traditional Business Partner role, this person will have significant responsibility to work alongside the Global HR Centers of Excellence and other key stakeholders to drive process improvement, promote HR effectiveness and embed the HR Business Partner Model in a scalable and sustainable way.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Understand our business to build trust-based relationships with Senior Leaders. Provide strategic HR leadership with the ability to translate business goals into actionable HR strategies and initiatives that help grow the business and over deliver on results.
Coach and develop leaders to grow the organization and engage and retain talent. Drive the design and adoption of best-in-class HR practices at all levels of the organisation.
In collaboration with the business, develop a robust workforce plan and talent strategy. Identify and develop talent pools to support succession priorities.
Understand future capabilities and talent profiles to achieve longer-term business goals. Evaluate gaps and develop approaches that result in building bench strength across the organization.
Specifically, driving HR related projects that further Alnylam’s reputation as a Great Place to Work’, including Culture and Engagement, Talent Management & Retention and Development strategies.
Partnering with Key Business Leaders, driving informed decision-making using data to identify trends, determine root causes of issues, and develop effective solutions to support organizational development and growth.
Being a key partner to Legal, Finance and other critical business lines in the regional strategy and local implementation of new legal entities.
Both at the prioritization and strategy level as well as hands on set up to enable employment and compliant HR practices in new markets.
Working at a regional level with in-depth employment law and HR practice expertise in multiple countries.
Work closely with peers and other members of the regional and / or global HR teams and effectively partner to drive company-wide programs and initiatives including the improvement and automation of all HR processes.
Provide impactful leadership and coaching to a team of HR professionals (through the matrix organization), empowering them to drive impact across the business.
Embrace a continuous improvement mindset and be constantly assessing the competitiveness and effectiveness of all programs and practices, against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets, seeking out further innovation.
Able to talk business’, therefore a good understanding of the Biotechnology / Pharmaceuticals environment is a strong advantage
Hands-on approach, the ability to work in a network / matrix structure and a proven track record of delivery.
Lead a team of CEMEA and ASIA-based HR business partners providing mentoring, troubleshooting and development guidance
Sit on the global HR leadership team contributing to HR strategy broadly, including but not limited to CEMEA and ASIA topics
A Masters’ Degree or equivalent level of education in HR or a core related topic.
A true strategic HR Business Partner. You will have extensive HR experience as a strategic partner with preference for cross-discipline HR experience.
Experienced with partnering with regional business leaders (up to SVP level) and ideally within the biotech environment.
Demonstrable competence in organisational development, executive coaching, culture and engagement, and other HR disciplines.
Significant experience leading multi-cultural HR teams and navigating global complexity in order to implement consistent processes, products and experiences.
You are flexible and have a high tolerance for ambiguity, and solution-oriented to provide clarity.
Experienced working both independently and within a team to achieve results and impact.
Extraordinary analytical, critical thinking and strategic problem-solving skills, with the drive to cut through complexity and turn high-level business requirements and opportunities into specific initiatives.
