10 days, that is how long we treat a patient’s T-cells, before we return them to potentially save this patient’s live. To support such novel, personalized treatment by defining and implementing the microbial control strategy, is a unique challenge within Novartis with immediate patient impact.
Your responsibilities will include :
Subject Matter Expertise for microbiological concepts & strategies following implementation into launch to commercial production.
Defines conceptual and strategical microbial projects relevant to his / her specific expertise.
Support with SME expertise to perform process characterizing of the related pharmaceutical processes to increase the microbial quality and sterility assurance.
Supports Process Experts and Product Stewards in trouble shooting by providing expertise as Subject Matter Experts and by harmonising and optimising related microbiological concepts & strategies across the units and on a global level.
Supports that the necessary benchmark is done internally in Novartis, and externally in the scientific and academic environment, in order to stimulate and to extend the knowledge, increasing the know-
how and expanding it to the rest of the organization.
What you’ll bring to the role :
Owns the knowledge of microbiological concepts & strategies to guarantee compliance, sterility assurance and a state-of-
the art microbiological quality for pharmaceutical drug products.
Be a scientific expert internally and externally by reporting and presenting scientific / technical work at internal / external meetings / conferences and publish in peer reviewed international scientific journals including patents.
Extensive (min. 5 - 7 years) experiences in pharmaceutical microbiology for sterile production and GMP-environment
Extensive experiences in project management
Fluent in English
Desirable requirements :
University degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology or equivalent scientific degree.
Proficient in site local language - German
Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills
