The research group of Prof. Olivier Delaneau at the department of Computational Biology is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher to work on projects in the fields of Systems and Population Genetics.

    Your responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will work on multiple projects aimed at understanding the downstream effects of genetic variations located in the non-coding regions of the human genome;
  • the main goal being to better characterize the functional impacts of disease associated genetic variants identified in the context of Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS).

    To do so, the successful candidate will mine large-scale multi-omics data sets containing genomic, transcriptomic and epigenetic data across multiple individuals and tissues using advanced statistical approaches and models.

    Statistical methods developments will have to be undertaken in order to carry out new types of data integration and analysis.

    Besides this, the successful candidate will also be involved in some teaching and administrative tasks related to the department’s activities.

    Your qualifications

    The candidate must have obtained a PhD degree in the field of computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science or statistics.

    Advanced skills in commonly used programing languages (C / C++, java, perl, python or R) are required. Any experience in the processing and the analysis of high throughput sequencing data is a plus.
