The 3D printing operator is in charge of running the platforms technically, including the preparation, execution and post-processing of print jobs, as well as hardware maintenance.
Additional tasks cover support in the part design and further AM-related consultancy service for the platform users.
In the particular case of MaP-SAMP, hands-on efforts to finalise the installation are key. Besides, building on the technical coordination, the position ideally also takes over the development of the operating concept with financial responsibility of the platform.
In the particular case of Wyss Zurich, the daily operation and maintenance of the Multi-Jet Fusion printer, including all pre- and post-processing tasks are the main responsibilities.
In addition, managing and optimising of the existing infrastructure and procedures are desired.
Finally, efforts dedicated to the building and cultivating of a vibrant community around the 3D printing platforms may complement the position's profile.

Qualified knowledge (at least a BSc degree in a relevant field) and demonstrated experience in CAD and 3D printing with the related software suite are essential prerequisites.
Additional know-how in AM of soft (elastomeric) materials is an advantage.
Ideally, in addition to the technical background and skills, an entrepreneurial mindset and prior practical experience with managing a technical platform, including (technical) documentation, financial management, reporting, communication and outreach is a plus.
