POSTING PRESENTATION :

The main mission of the Regional Sustainability Champion is to strengthen and support STMicroelectronics' contribution to current and future environmental, social, and societal issues.

The role involves deploying the corporate sustainability strategy in the Americas Region and defining within this global frame new local initiatives, based on an analysis of regional customers and regulations’ expectations.

The individual in this position will be responsible for coordinating and leading the Region Sustainability Committee and assisting site managers in their sustainability initiatives as well as proposing actions at the regional level.

Sustainability activities may include in particular : governance, stakeholders’ engagement, sustainability risk management, health, safety, psychosocial wellbeing, diversity equity and inclusion, ethics, people management standards, carbon neutrality, energy savings, renewable energy, waste, water, chemicals, biodiversity, responsible supply chain, responsible products, community and education including STEM promotion.

Main responsibilities :

  • Regional interface for the corporate sustainability team, and participant for corporate governance initiatives
  • Coordinate network of region site managers
  • Develop annual sustainability priorities and regional top page in line with the corporate strategy
  • Maintain the roadmaps and objectives for the region, in the frame of company commitments for 2025 and beyond
  • Consolidate local initiatives, continuously share best practices, recover gaps vs ST standards
  • Coordinate internal audits
  • Promote Sustainability initiatives in collaboration with the External Communication team and in coordination with the internal communication team, develop contents and events designed to engage all employees in the region
  • Participate in any regional benchmark groups
  • Ensure reliability of regional KPIs, consolidate scorecards at regional level if needed
  • Coordinate sustainability risk management exercise every year
  • Develop regional / local partnerships to accelerate sustainability (eg universities)
  • Train regional leaders and site management teams on all sustainability key topics
  • Target regional, national and local external recognitions and drive action plans
  • Conduct eventual local reporting where required, under Corporate approval
  • Respond to all internal requests
  • Monitor regional standards and regulations on social, environmental and governance topics
  • PROFILE REQUIRED :

  • The ideal candidate will have the following profile :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or a field related to sustainable development and 5+ years directly related experience with an international company
  • Strong project / program management skills
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects while interfacing with multi-cultural working groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret legal texts
  • Exceptional prioritization, organization, and coordination skills
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
  • Creative thinker, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, communicate with conviction and influence leadership
  • Excellent understanding of the international and regional context of climate policy, carbon, market and climate developments, and / or the corporate sustainability landscape
  • Education level required
  • 4 - Bachelor degree
