Eawag, the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, is an internationally networked aquatic research institute within the ETH Domain (Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology).
Eawag conducts research, education and expert consulting to achieve the dual goals of meeting direct human needs for water and maintaining the function and integrity of aquatic ecosystems.
The Phytoplankton Ecology Group at Eawag opens a We are looking for a highly motivated and independent person with interests in aquatic sciences and technology.
We will combine laboratory and fieldwork on lakes, with computer work using underwater imaging microscopes and flow-cytometers.
The goal of the project is to acquire information on interacting biotic and abiotic drivers on phytoplankton community change using automated high frequency data from Swiss lakes.
We aim at studying and modelling plankton dynamics and cyanobacterial blooms by applying new methods for in situ monitoring, in particular underwater imaging (see the website www.
aquascope.ch ). The ideal start would be spring or early summer 2021 and the service should last around 6 months. For further information or questions please contact Senta Schödler, senta.
