About You

Corporate Communications Director external relations, corporate financial reporting, crisiscommunications, news flow and patient communications.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Co-develop and implement the global external relations strategy and activity plan
  • Develop issues management and crisis communication plans and act as a deputy in case of crisis
  • Develop and drive clear and consistent news flow
  • Further strengthen position of Vifor Pharma as a patient-centric organisation working closely with the Patient Advocacy Lead
  • Spokesperson responsibilities such as handling media enquiries, briefing executives and closely collaborating with senior management on message development
  • Maintain media relationships with Swiss and international business, financial and pharma press
  • Manage international media relations strategy and execution
  • Draft statements, Q&As, press materials and write, edit and approve content, including using social and online media to distribute
  • Prepare briefings for senior leaders, including preparation for interviews and development of speeches, presentations and talking points
  • Organisation of press events and conferences
  • Partner with Investor Relations to ensure consistent messaging across financial stakeholders and media
  • Partner and work closely with other functions for consistent communications such as HR, Legal, IT and Marketing / Medical
  • Project manage and write content for the annual and half-year report and publishing related activities
  • Identify and anticipate issues and work with functions to counsel on reputation / business impact and influence business decision making process
  • Develop a KPI matrix to measure the effectiveness of public relations activities
  • Working closely with Director Corporate Communications responsible for corporate digital communications, business transformation, employee communications to ensure consistent messaging across all channels
  • Management of agencies and related partners
  • Provide executives with a timely assessment of relevant industry and macro issues
  • Monitor and share external stakeholder insights that may have an impact on the reputation of the company, brands and pipeline
  • Manage and develop team of 1-2 direct reports
  • We would like to welcome the following experience and skills for the role :

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications and media relations, having worked inhouse or in agencies
  • Experience in an international corporate environment; relevant working experience
  • Experience as a spokesperson for a large or medium-sized organisation
  • University degree; preferably in Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Science, or Medical Communications
  • Outstanding message development and writing skills
  • Communication background in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Stakeholder engagement and alliance building expertise
  • Track record in successfully collaborating with cross-functional and cross-country teams
  • High proficiency in German and English, nice-to-have in French
  • Network of international media contacts considered helpful
  • Excellent leadership, networking, team building skills
