It consists of three major research institutes : Health Sciences, Material Sciences and Food Safety & Analytical Sciences.

nestle.com / randd. Demonstrating excellent innovation mindset and curiosity , you will be delivering packaging solutions, which fit to the strategic objectives of the company, specifically on the reducing environmental impact and food waste, improving end-

of-life scenario, and consumer functionality. You will enable active knowledge sharing and expertise development in specific fields of packaging. Key responsibilities

  • Actively scout state-of-the-art packaging materials developments via relevant external collaborations including academic, industrial and start-up companies
  • Engage potential suppliers at the R&D level to develop innovative packaging solutions
  • Propose projects and develop prototypes that involve the use of bio-based materials to facilitate R&D packaging projects
  • Identify and define structured research projects with well-defined milestones and endpoints
  • Provide cost-effective and sustainable packaging solutions working closely with market or Strategic Business Units packaging groups to identify unmet needs
  • Provide critical reviews of scientific / technical content of projects as requested
  • Engage internal stakeholders to understand and identify unmet needs for packaging
  • Develop solutions and propose projects in collaboration with other departments, businesses and markets globally
  • Required profile

  • PhD in Packaging Technology / Materials Science / Engineering or related subject
  • Strong expertise and research experience in Packaging Laminates, bio-based polymers for packaging, bio-degradable polymers for packaging or other sustainable solutions
  • Good understanding of operational set-up and ability to integrate business context into activity
  • Fluency in English
