The Associate Manager is a varied role within the growing Business Intelligence and Investigations Practice, based in Zurich.

As an Associate Manager, you will either be responsible for managing an aspect of a large investigation, or be responsible for all aspects of case management, from conducting research and analysis, to structuring reports and managing resources, to presenting conclusions to clients.

This is a client facing role and as such, you will be expected to build and retain key relationships and exceed in meeting the client’s needs, whilst ensuring that the Kroll brand remains intact at all times.

Due to the range of cases that you will manage across various industry-sectors and country locations, a key interest in global events and markets, with an awareness of working across different cultural and political environments is essential.

Due to the global reach of our business, the ability to read and write in foreign languages is desirable.


  • Support case work, with focus on investigations of misconduct, fraud prevention and risk assessment, compliance, and due diligence
  • Manage projects under supervision of a senior member of the Business Intelligence and Investigations practice, and coordinate work with other Kroll’s offices and subcontractors
  • Ensure communication with the client and other stakeholders (e.g. regulators, public authorities and legal advisors)
  • Analyze the client’s initial situation, define an appropriate investigation strategy, conduct searches, document and transaction reviews, interviews and email reviews
  • Write reports, identify the necessary measures and formulate the recommendations to the client
  • Participate in business development initiatives and develop client relationships
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across Kroll’s network of offices and various business practices

  • 2 to 3 years of professional experience in an internal / external audit or investigation role
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Audit or in other related fields
  • Professional certifications, such as ACCA / CFA / CFE / CIA, desirable but not essential
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills, with proven experience in using Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in German and English essential
  • Fluency in French or other major language desirable
  • Intellectually curious and adept at navigating ambiguity
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to communicate in both a verbal and written format, to a very high standard, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to drive forward and co-ordinate a number of concurrent projects and tasks, managing competing demands
  • Flexibility and readiness to travel both nationally and internationally
