Job Description Summary

To strengthen our Project Imagine-EM team, we are looking for an exceptional Business Development Manager, based in Basel (can also be UK, Blackley or US, Morristown based) and reporting to the Project Leader Imagine-EM.

Role Purpose :

Responsible for developing relationships and new business for Lonza's Infection Prevention initiative (Imagine-EM to start with, further projects to follow) :

  • Healthcare Institution level to develop direct sales at the hospital level for pilot trials (with an aim to convert into commercial deals) and early adopters
  • IPC Company Level (Infection Prevention and Control) to commercialize Lonza’s product offering through partnerships with disinfectant and equipment companies / distributors
  • Key Accountabilities and Duties

  • Interacts with end users in multiple roles in Healthcare Institutions and, Facility Management Companies), with Hygiene customers as potential partners as well as equipment suppliers (e.
  • g. market established diagnostic devices such as ATP testing and others) to identify business opportunities for Lonza's Informatics Systems for Environmental Monitoring

  • Coordinates approaches to Hygiene customers with respective colleagues from PH and HPC Marketing
  • Business opportunity analysis and revision and / or modifications of market approaches and business model(s)
  • Drives process modifications and implementation of future process(es) for sales after full commercialization
  • Identifies and analyses related, additional and future market and customer needs in order to determine product modifications, future product development(s) and improvements in the sales process
  • Collects, communicates, and assesses competitive information to determine positioning and future product needs

    e. IPC and Facility Management staff in Healthcare Institutions as well as with B2B prospects at the level of our Hygiene customers or equipment suppliers.

    Furthermore you have the following skills, experience and qualifications :

  • MSc or similar level and MBA (required) Field of study : (Micro)Biology, Chemistry, Life Science - Informatics
  • English (required) German, French, Chinese, Spanish (preferred)
  • Certification (Registered Nurse, IPC focus)
  • Extensive experience in Business Development (B2B or B2C) and Infection Prevention
