General Summary

We are seeking a full-time Cloud Support Specialist to support, manage and maintain Cloud Computing technologies, applications and database platforms.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide incident first level support for Cloud technologies
  • Deployment of applications and services into AWS using a variety of automation tools such as Cloudformation, Terraform and Cloud provider API's.
  • Troubleshooting, performance tuning and optimization of cloud-hosted applications and services in AWS, including cost optimization.
  • Working with application development teams using continuous delivery practices and toolsets, ie. Git, Jenkins, automated testing tools.
  • Ensuring security methods and processes are in-line with security policies.
  • Authoring technical documentation to a high standard.
  • Liaising with 3rd party vendors and support providers for timely resolution of issues
  • Provide advice to application projects to facilitate their adoption of Cloud
  • Promote and realize automation opportunities across application deployment, maintenance and operational activities
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to build capabilities that support strategic work practices such as DevOps and Agile
  • Work with internal stakeholders s to have visibility and governance over their pay-as-go infrastructure.

  • Qualifications, Experience And Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud hosted technologies with AWS (Mandatory) and any related certification is a plus
  • Experience with automating, managing and monitoring AWS services : EC2, EBS, ELB, Route53, S3, Cloudwatch, Autoscaling, VPC and RDS.
  • Familiarity with systems management concepts, capacity / performance management and tuning; and storage and network concepts such as subnetting, DNS and routing / switching
  • Competencies
