About the role
We are looking for a motivated business steering specialist, with a strong analytical background and solid Life and Health underwriting / pricing / claims experience, excited to join our team in Zurich for a unique professional opportunity.
The role is primarily focused on Life and Health business. It entails identifying critical, potential accumulation risks and consequently setting, tracking and managing Group-
wide Underwriting capacity limits, to duly keep such exposure within defined risk appetite.
You will identify market and portfolio trends that have impact across Swiss Re global portfolio and steer the dialogue at the Group Steering Committee on topics of strategic relevance for the line of business overall.
You will develop a view on potential business opportunities and contribute to enhance the organization's portfolio management capability.
The position involves performing quantitative analyses on portfolio data and complementing them with expert judgment, so as to identify relevant trends and determine their impact on Swiss Re portfolio.
You will work on a wide variety of projects, contributing also to initiatives cutting across Swiss Re business units and lines of business, including Property & Specialty, Casualty and Credit & Surety.
As a member of the Business Steering team, you will support our unit in continuously strengthening our internal and external professional network.
About the Business Steering Team
We are a highly collaborative, knowledgeable team with 6 members, hosted in Portfolio Underwriting unit within Swiss Re Institute, a department mandated to steer our group's underwriting portfolio by smartly allocating capital to underwriting risk pools.
We ensure that Swiss Re uses its capital wisely and gets the most return for it. Consequently, we steer the Group towards the Target Liability Portfolio over the course of the annual cycle.
We actively set underwriting capacity limits and manage the accumulation risk. We steer the dialogue on relevant business and strategic topics, requiring a group wide view.
