Your mission :

A Swiss National Science Foundation-funded postdoctoral position is available to investigate gene expression in the brain in a cell-type specific manner, in the Laboratory of Behavioral Genetics led by Prof. Carmen Sandi.

The project will connect differential gene expression in a cell type-specific manner with behavior, with a main focus on motivation and stress-related behavioral changes.

Main duties and responsibilities include :

  • Performing experiments to assess gene expression with different techniques (see your profile below).
  • Performing analyses on the gene expression data and associated behavioral and neurobiological correlates.
  • Your profile :

    We search candidates with a track record on the analyses of gene expression (e.g., RNA sequencing, RNAscope, Cartana) and bioinformatic skills.

  • Experience with Ribotag and / or TRAP approaches would be an asset. Expertise in one or several of the following areas will be additionally valued, but not required : behavioral testing;
  • mitochondria and metabolism; neural circuit characterization.

    The qualified candidate should have a PhD and able to work independently and in collaboration. He / she must have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as a strong research track-record. We offer :
