clinical biostatistics capability, as a part of our Global Research Data Science team. You will lead statistical projects contributing towards experimental design, statistical analyses, interpretation and reporting of research studies, in order to ensure efficient use of resources as well as robust conclusions and deliveries following regulatory requirements and guidelines across Research conducted at our Bern (Switzerland) and Marburg (Germany) sites.
You will work on a wide range of projects and coordinate with other global data analysis / computational experts (Data management, Bioinformatics, PK / PD / Pharmacometrics and Clinical Development) to ensure that CSL Research is current and compliant in statistical methods.
You will provide statistics training to scientific staff and keep raising and maintaining basic competence around the data analysis thought process as well as in the use of standard data acquisition and analytics platforms (e.
g R, Prism and Electronic Lab Notebook). Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities : Drive, innovate and provide statistical support to pre-
clinical Research objectives across Bern and Marburg sites, including : Experimental design Assay development, analysis and validation Biomarker development, validation and optimisation Exploratory biomarker studies and interpretation in FIH clinical studies Genomic data analysis (e.
g. RNAseq) Provide statistical expertise for scientific publications Support interactions with regulatory agencies Conduct statistical training, through documentation, presentations and working closely with scientific groups, for CSL Research staff to raise awareness of statistical aspects and regulatory requirements Work together with other Senior statisticians to help co-
ordinate the support for global pre-clinical statistical work required at Bern, Marburg and Melbourne sites Support the research data management function towards its goal to increase data integrity and data standards across CSL Research Actively engage with external collaborators both commercial and academic to ensure that CSL Research is current with methods and areas relevant to its business eg methods for handling big data.
Manage contractors and / or CROs and junior statisticians as needed Qualifications & Experience : Essential Advanced degree (PhD or Ms) in Statistics or Biostatistics and Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics or another computational field 4+ years of experience in working in biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting or significant statistical consulting experience Expert knowledge of foundational statistical principles and methods applicable to the pre-
clinical research setting Working knowledge of R or other command-line driven statistical software and understanding of basic programming concepts Understanding of basic life science concepts related to biomedical research and ability to explain complex analysis approaches to non-
statisticians Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written English) bridging scientific and business needs Ability to build partnerships, collaborative environments and manage multiple stakeholders Desirable Experience in Bayesian statistical methods Experience in analysis of genomic data Fluent in German and English We are looking forward to receiving your online application.
