Job main responsibilities
Give technical support for Omya's Group Sales and Marketing organization and product development projects for commercialization of new products.
Coordination of technical projects in respect to Group Regions and Local Sales & Marketing support and Group Technical Services & Innovation (TSI).
That are projects for introduction of existing and new Omya Products at Customers locations or sites. Whereas Omya supports test installations or new processing equipment or lines for traditional and new adjacent minerals products with and without GMP requirements.
In engineering concepts for potential customer application at customer locations and sites.
Work in strong cooperation with GOP Engineering departments.
Prepare project charter, definition of test plans and organization of trials and analysis.
Design of test systems for customer applications with internal and external experts.
Represent as Technical resource for customer support and onsite testing at customers
Enable troubleshooting and optimization of existing equipment and processes.
Support in on-site trials.
Support roll-out of new equipment and process modifications.
Equipment scouting and supplier assessment and develop mechanical guidelines incl. applications at customers.
Detailed tasks and responsibilities of the job
Support Innovation development projects for Sales and Marketing Customers, pilot installations and trials at customers facilities, e.
g. manage Projects for Innovation (phase 3 and roll out phase 4)
Support Sales and Marketing organization for production trials of new Products.
Translate functional needs into specifications.
Set up, test and validate trial phases.
Collaborate with Technical Services & Innovation (TSI) for trials at customers, data analysis, conclusions and next steps.
Establish cost estimates, project plans for Omya Innovation Projects at customers.
Develop, document and validate new processes to apply Omya products at customer facilities / lines.
Introduce and improve new product or process applications by modifications and trials and FAT at customers. And support Customers on new manufacturing lines / equipment for start-up after product launch.
Close contact with internal and external customers and end user to understand local regulations, needs and constraints.
Cooperation within GOP organization Reinach and Barcelona office.
Support procurement in supplier selection for projects with new processes / equipment at customers.
Develop guidelines for customers on new products handling by technical descriptions, specifications & trainings.
Participate in implementing and complying with QSHE regulations on a daily basis.
Candidate profile requirements
Process and / or Mechanical Engineering with Academicdegree and / or min 5 years working experience in the field of Mechanical Engineeringand / or Process Engineering, preferably related to minerals processing.
Expertise - Interpersonal and organizational skillsin customer contact
Knowledge of investment- and product costing fundamentals
Good analytical and deductive skills.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Ability to be proactive and take responsibility
Travel needed to customers in regions, pilots, plants, supplier's sites expect up to 50% travel
