This role is part of the ERP Architecture, Technology & Integration (AT&I) function, reporting to the ASPIRE ERP Application Development Team Lead.
In this role and unique opportunity, you will partake in a global Greenfield business transformation enabled by technology that will integrate all core business processes needed to run a company into a single, transparent and efficient system using the latest SAP ERP Technology.
As Technical Architect for SAP S / 4HANA in the Application Development (AD) domain, you will work with a team of AD experts, other architects in and outside the AD team, with Systems Integrator partners and other members and stakeholders of the program.
Key responsibilities include :
Maintain and continuously evolve the development standards and guidelines related to S / 4HANA while maintaining the lifecycle of the tools that support it.
Inspire business transformation through the use of latest SAP technology by conducting technical assessments during requirements definition phase, leading and / or participating in Proof-of-Concepts (PoC's) and facilitating the eventual launch of the technology
Contribute in creating and maintaining ERP architecture strategy, vision and guidelines in alignment with the ERP Enterprise Architecture Team
Advocate and actively promote technical architecture principles including the Cloud-Ready mindset and keeping the S / 4 core clean related to application development by spreading the knowledge and concepts through different means such as trainings, postings, webinars and alike
Strive for simplification, harmonization and reusability from application development perspective
Closely work with functional teams to understand the business requirements, define initial technical architecture concepts and ensure that the Systems Integrator follows the right approach in fulfilling these adhering to our principles, standards, guidelines and best practices
Ensure high quality of developments in S / 4HANA by reviewing technical designs and development work and supporting implementation, transition and post-go-live support
Ensure all technical architecture deviations related to S / 4HANA are properly governed, recorded and reviewed on a regular basis
Keep up to date with technologies, especially S / 4 development and generally, SAP
Work with the AD Team Lead to plan WRICEFs, report status and progress, manage development risks and issues and facilitate technical oversight over application development work and tasks
For this position, you bring the following qualification and skills :
University Degree or equivalent education and / or work experience in computer science, software engineering or similar field, preferably with experience working in the Pharmaceutical industry global environment
Strong ABAP skills including modern ABAP (7.4+) and ABAP RESTful Programming Model with proven success on SAP (S / 4 preferred) implementation projects utilizing different development capabilities / tools such as in-app extensions, embedded analytics development, workflows, Adobe forms, BOPF, CDS, Fiori, OData, ABAP Test Cockpit & SQL Monitor
In depth knowledge of S / 4 HANA Architecture, design & development processes to be able to review the work of the application development team and be able to provide guidance as appropriate
Solid understanding of the SAP Cloud Readiness Criteria and extensibility concept
Good troubleshooting skills
In depth experience of the entire Software Development Lifecycle and methodologies including Agile and DevOps, delivering functionality on time, on budget and meeting business needs
Strong technical leadership of application development teams and vendors
Experience collaborating with Enterprise Architects and infrastructure / basis technical architects to identify, design and implement end-to-end solutions
Outstanding interpersonal skills across all areas and levels
Passion in the simplification and standardization of complex processes and IT systems
Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours and work virtually
Availability to travel occasionally
Knowledge of regulated environment, Computer System Validation and experience in ITIL are desirable
Excellent English language skills are required, additional languages appreciated
