Part I Position Description Summary

Reporting to the Director of Global Strategy, Portfolio, and Architecture for Consumer Health (CH) Technology, the Sr Manager will be responsible for managing the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) strategy and portfolio as well as driving, maturing, and executing against our Global Strategy and Portfolio processes.

From an EMEA perspective this position will work closely with the CH Technology EMEA team including the EMEA CIO, EMEA Technology Leadership team, EMEA delivery teams, and finance.

The Sr Manager will be responsible for managing the EMEA portfolio - this includes ensuring that the right mix of strategies and outcomes are funded, required technology capabilities and demands are identified, prioritized, and delivered to maximize business and technology value.

They will ensure that the portfolio process is aligned and integrated with financial management process and will support the annual business planning and update cycles.

This position will also be responsible for providing coaching, hands on support, and training as required throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure initiatives are utilizing the processes and tools to consistently and effectively manage scope, schedule, financials and resources.

From a Portfolio Strategy and Execution perspective, this position will work closely with the Strategy and Portfolio (S&P) Director, broader S&P Team, the CH Technology Leadership team, broader technology team, and finance.

  • The Sr Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Global CH Technology portfolio is strategically aligned & optimized;
  • delivered on time, on budget & in-sync with financial systems; enabling high-performing delivery teams that leverage best practices aligned to Agile and Product-based ways of working.

    Further, the Sr Manager will also be responsible for owning the definition, enhancement, and maturing of strategic planning, portfolio management, and delivery management processes, as well as frameworks, products, and data ensuring alignment with modern practices and methodologies such as Agile, Scaled Agile, Lean, Design Thinking, and Product Management.

    They will need to apply effective change management methodologies to help embed the processes across various levels and functions within the organization.

    Part II - Key Responsibilities

  • Supports strategic planning activities inclusive of strategy definition, communication, planning, and tracking within Consumer Health Technology, ensuring alignment to Business and Technology strategies.
  • Supports the definition and execution against long range strategic and financial plans.

  • Manage the end to end portfolio management processes globally. Supports the identification, prioritization, approval, funding, KPI’and delivery of Technology investments.
  • Ensures that value is defined, tracked, and realized. Analytical insights and recommendations identified.

  • Definition, implementation, and maturing of portfolio and delivery frameworks inclusive of Agile, Scaled Agile, Lean, Design Thinking, Product Management, and Waterfall
  • Grow into a trusted advisor on a broad range of topics related to digital first and agile portfolio management.
  • Facilitate the business planning cycle, structured engagement with key stakeholders through relevant meetings and forums aligned to defined cadences.
  • Support the execution of individual initiatives through the development and application of best practices for scope, schedule, budget, resource and risk / issue management.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to deliver more effective and efficient planning and execution models.

  • Maintains budget and cost plans with project managers and business planning director. Executes the monthly financial reporting process
  • Coach and train Project Managers on the project management processes (Waterfall & Agile) and tools. Become a subject matter expert of the project management discipline, processes (Agile, Waterfall, Issue / Risk management), and associated tools (Roadmunk, PMT, PMx, JIRA)
  • Perform regular portfolio and initiative reviews with key stakeholders
  • Ensure planning and execution alignment to SDLC and Project Lifecycle Management principles
  • Proactively suggest ways to improve the effectiveness of the portfolio management process and tools
  • Effectively communicate with users, stakeholders and Technology Leadership
  • Managed matrixed responsibilities with regional Technology Leadership and Product Line Stakeholders. Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to others.
  • Handle strategic relationships with technology and business stakeholders and partners.


    Part III Job Requirements

    Qualifications, Experience, and Skills :

  • Bachelor's with 10 years of relevant experience. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • 5 years combined experience across areas of portfolio, project management, agile delivery
  • Previous people management experience required
  • Global leadership experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with the implementation and execution of Agile Portfolio and Project Management frameworks (e.
  • g. SAFe, Kanban, SCRUM) and tools (e.g. Jira, Agile Central / Rally, MS Project, PPM Solutions)

  • Experience executing within Technology Delivery models and the Software Delivery Life Cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience with Technology Product Management as well as Digital and Data / Analytics initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience leading and handling large programs and projects is required
  • Demonstrated experience with Financial management
  • Strong strategy management, analytical thinking, problem solving, learning agility, communication, and teamwork skills are required
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and experience presenting to senior management is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation and training delivery skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft office tools and productivity tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Yammer, MS Teams, SharePoint
