Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders.

Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.

The UX Research Operations team builds infrastructure to enable UX Research across Google. The team’s core responsibilities are recruiting participants for user research studies and connecting UX Researchers with selected research agencies to expand our capabilities.

As a Program Manager, you will be focused on connecting researchers with the right participants around the world while giving participants an awesome experience of Google.

You will travel at least 30% of the time to vendor locations and Google offices where our stakeholders are.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Research Operations vendors and ensure they deliver high-quality, efficient and scalable services to the UX Research community.
  • Run and monitor vendor programs, working with leadership to set the right KPIs that are best for the operations and stakeholders.
  • Develop plans that are supported by reporting and analysis to help improve the quality, speed of execution and productivity of our operations.
  • Support vendors in communicating and engaging with Google stakeholders and act as a point of escalation.
  • Partner with colleagues around the globe to ensure we are meeting the varied and specific needs of UX Infrastructure and the UX Research community across Google.
  • Minimum qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant program management experience.
  • Experience with vendor and supplier management.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Experience measuring / monitoring team utilization / quality, forecasting headcount needs and tracking spend against budget.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects, cross-functional and global in scope with expert task management, ownership and follow through.
  • Knowledge of the UX Research Operations landscape and managing projects related to user feedback or user research.
  • Ability to identify data, reporting and automation needs and either write queries, scripts or dashboards or partner with other teams to make those ideas a reality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
